KNOWN AND STRANGE THINGS

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then my two photos of Teju Cole‘s collection of essays, Known and Strange Things, should say it all. I don’t have enough words. I’ve read and reread so many of his essays, always coming away with something new. I know I need to go back and read Baldwin all over again. Cole has given me new insights into American Culture way past my white skin. He has sharpened my views of Africa itself, its invaders and saviors.

Essayist, novelist, photographer, and raised in Nigeria. We can count ourselves lucky he has returned to America, the land of his birth.  – Sunny Solomon
