I will add to this later today, but wanted to at least alert you to two of my favorites:
Philadelphia Chickens, by Sandra Boynton — Just posted a review. This is for any mom or grandmother with access to small people. All I had to do as a bookseller at an independent bookstore was to pop in this CD and the book sold all by itself (we sold more than 100 copies). It’s available at all IndieBound stores as well as the big A.
Without Reservations, by Alice Steinbach — I’ll have a review up by tonight, but this is an important book for moms, especially those who have grown children, but a solid read for any mom, or any woman. It’s part world travel, part memoir and partly a journey into ourselves beyond the labels of mother, daughter, friend, wife, ex-wife or employee. Steinbach’s look at her past and her future gives the reader a roadmap for the present, a passport to travel anywhere without reservations.
