Benjamin Black + BBC

This one makes me so happy: Irish writer Benjamin Black’s Quirke novels (A Death in Summerwill be coming soon to your local tv or whatever current app you use to watch the BBC productions, and for most of us, that means PBS, which also reminds me to remind you to support your local PBS station so they can afford to buy the series from the BBC. In addition to his great mystery (and so much more) series, I encourage you to also read his novels written under his real name, John Banville. I still have reviews yet to be unpacked, but two come to mind that I’d recommend in a flash: The Infinities and The Untouchable.

Benjamin Black Books Adapted As TV Series For BBC ONE

Quirke, the detective character who recurs throughout the works of the Man Booker Prize-winning Irish novelist John Banville (who is better known under the pen name Benjamin Black), is making his screen debut in a new television series from BBC ONE.
